New month, new band pt. II

Working For A Nuclear Free City

After I posted about The Kills, I thought it would be a good idea to try and discover a new band every month. Now Ill probably find multiple bands some months but Ill just pass it off like I only found one...I have to have material somehow!

I can say with 100% honesty that I dont remember how I found Working for a Nuclear Free City. I dont remember if I stumbled across them whilst browsing iTunes. I dont remember if I heard them on the radio (doubtful). I dont even remember if someone told me about them. Regardless, I found them and theyre amazing.

What is it with the British and their ability to make incredibly atmospheric music? I dont know that I would say that U2 started it all, but they were certainly a front-runner to some of the good British bands today (i.e. Coldplay (yes Coldplay is good! I dont care how much theyre over-played!)) . Working for a Nuclear Free City is just another band that fits that U2 mold: strange sounding guitars, lots of reverb, and British accents (or Irish if we want to get technical).

Ill throw a few songs up here, but I would definitely take the time to dig a little deeper. Its worth it.

These guys are going to be in Louisville (well actually Indiana considering the concert is at Horseshoe)on August 8 I think. I saw a bill board for it yesterday.
